Natalie Moffitt (b. 1991, Johnson City, Tennessee) makes intuitive abstract oil paintings that interpret emotion and memory using a personal vocabulary of color and mark making. She describes her process as a visual stream of consciousness comprised of memory, place, environment, sound, and light. Moffitt earned her BFA from Houghton College in upstate New York in 2014. She has participated in exhibitions at Concept Art Gallery, Pittsburgh; the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh; the Kipp Gallery, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and the Ortlip Gallery, Houghton College; among others. Moffitt participated in artist residencies at Green Olive Arts, Morocco; Kitengela Glass, Kenya; and Getaway, Ohio. Her work has been acquired by The Grable Foundation, Pittsburgh; Houghton College, Houghton; and is in private collections around the world. Moffitt currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
