Dee Briggs was born in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania and raised in Wellsburg, West Virginia. She studied architecture at the City College of New York and received her Master of Architecture degree from Yale University. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including in Thomas Paine Park, Foley Square in New York City, The Sculpture Center in Cleveland, and the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. She is currently working on a large-scale commission for Michigan State University in Lansing MI to be installed in 2019. Briggs’ work is currently on view at the Newcomb Art Museum, at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, the Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh, and at The Voigt Sculpture Foundation in Paradise Ridge, Sonoma Valley, Santa Rosa, CA.
