Mariella Bisson was born in Vermont. She received a BFA in Drawing at Pratt Institute in 1978. Based in drawing, she creates paintings and mixed media works on linen using landscape elements of rock, forest, and water to explore themes of time, light, gravity, change, and constancy. Bisson created and directed the Visual Arts Program in Prospect Park from 1983 to 1993, and she also was the curator for the One Man Sculpture Space in Brooklyn for ten years. Her works are in corporate collections and museums including Pfizer and Philip Morris, the City Museum of Gelsenkirchen, Germany and the Zimmerli Museum in New Jersey.
