Eric Kunde was born in 1969. He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art from 1988-89, where he was awarded a Portfolio Scholarship, and The Art Students’ League from 1989-1992, where he was awarded a Merit Scholarship. While furthering his studies in New York, Kunde was able to showcase his work in several student shows, and later received his first solo exhibition in Mentor, Ohio at the Wildwood Cultural Center. He has had exhibitions at Bonfoey and Company in Cleveland, Ohio, Artino Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio, Museum without Walls International in Bemus Point, New York, Saint Ignatius Loyola Church in New York, New York, and Wildwood Cultural Center in Mentor, Ohio. Kunde’s works encompass many different styles, while displaying a deep understanding of traditional technique acquired through the study of old masters. The themes of his works focus on beauty, memory, and subjective perception. In 2001, Kunde’s elegant still-life paintings were featured in the group exhibition, Flowers at Concept Art Gallery (Pittsburgh, PA). Eric Kunde resides in Cleveland, Ohio, where he paints, teaches, and lectures.
